DJ Kent (South Africa) Khensani Mabaso aka DJ Kent not only plays music (SA style ‘house’), but has also established himself as a producer. In 2008 he released his solo debut album, called ‘Mixing Business with Pleasure Reloaded’. The record won him the 2008/2009 SAMA award for ‘best urban dance album’. Kent, who is still in his early twenties, co-owns his record label (88 Productions), which has recently signed two major acts: Diamond Dealer from Bloemfontein and Relo from South Africa’s famous Skwatta camp crew. Big Nuz – Made In Africa
The name Big Nuz comes from Big because they are doing big things and NUZ is the license plate of one of the biggest townships in South Africa, Umlazi, situated in the south coast of Durban. Big Nuz consists of 3 guys Mandla Maphumulo aka Mampintsha, Mzi Tshomela aka Danger and Sbu Khomo aka R Mashesha. The group was formed 2002 and they were based in Johannesburg where they hustling moving from one studio to another in search of a record. One of the featured tracks can be sampled below:
Cox – Revelation
Cox, who has been a producer since 2006, has produced for some of the best musicians in Namibia, including Mr Makoya, Tequila and Kavax, just to name a few. Namibian born artist ‘Cox” delivers a solid album featuring collaborations with “Uncle” and “Qandja”. A great writer and performer he is one to look out for. Soundquest, Magic Soul & Vincemo – Candi Roots Volume 3
This will be the Third installment of the ever growing series, which selects the best upcoming talent around the local house music scene. DJ Vincemo has featured on past Soul Candi compilations including last years House Of…release in December with the remix of DJ Game’s hit anthem, Destiny. He’ll be releasing most of his production with one or two remixes. Magic Soul have been making music for a while now, have released stuff on labels such as Peng Records, Solid Ground Recordings and Offering Recordings and are finally ready to release their sweet sounds on this album. This South African Tribal sound in this release is his own unique style called “DRUMMERVILLE”.

Spiritchaser – Chronos
Since the late 90′s, Spiritchaser have remained consistent as one of dance music’s leading partnerships. They have not only embraced the changing face of the music industry but also played a part in the shaping of modern house music with their unique style and combination of song and sound.
In 2005, their spiritual home Guess Records was launched and a new chapter was underway. Sister label to the successful Duffnote and One51 imprints, Guess provided a new platform for them to fine-tune their musical aspirations and the Spiritchaser sound. Their debut album “1440″ introduced the beginnings of a collaboration with vocalist Emily Cook and Daniel Jones (Est8) which in 2011, took South Africa by storm with the smash hit “These Tears” topping the charts for 9 weeks and continued for some 38 weeks in the Media Guide top 10. This partnership further resulted in the album “Tears in the rain” which was released in South Africa in 2012.
“Chronos” encapsulates the years passed and present and with a combination of some old favourites, exclusive new material, un-released mixes and re-edits giving the concept of a “best of” album a real twist.

The Djoon Experience Compiled & Mixed By Black Coffee And Joe Claussell
Djoon is a club in east Paris that is known for its house music. This is very soulful house music. This album is wonderful with the first mix by Mr. Causell which was recorded live at a party he threw in his hotel in Tokyo. The second mix is the most famous DJ in South Africa black coffee. This mix is deep soul at its best. I was surprised with the energy of this two mixes, great selection of tracks and probably the best compilation of this year so far.

Thulane Da Producer – Soulful Hits Vol.1
TRedefining what it means to be producer/dj and musician, Thulane has proven to many that he has the capability of being one of greatest house music producers to ever come from the shores of South Africa. He has produced a song call “Move” with its soulful and deep melody this is one of his tracks that made deep and soulful listeners take note of his production in house music.
Da Producer born and bred in South Africa, North West Province in a township called “Khuma Loacation” and grew up in a township Katlehong located in the East of Johannesburg. He is defiantly a name that will be a house hold name to many hearts in the future and his gift is to some in the present.
